When you think of core childhood memories, what comes to mind?

For me, it is the annual lemonade stand held with my cousins. We have held one every year at our grandparents’ house since 2016. Every year our stand has grown so much from the items sold to even the amount of cousins we have working it. We started with only 5 but now there are 13 of us! But we aren’t the only thing that has changed. Over time, our stand has evolved too.

In the last few years, we have added snacks, hot dogs, and this year, a dunk tank! Seeing the stand grow over the years has been rewarding but my personal favorite part is being able to share the money we make with those who need it. We have donated to many organizations including the Meeker Area Food Shelf, the School of St. Philip’s, Jack’s Basket, a scholarship in honor of a Litchfield student who passed away due to a car accident, and a local family whose mother is battling breast cancer.

This year, our profits are going towards ProWorks, an organization that connects individuals with disabilities to businesses within the Litchfield area. Our money will help ProWorks purchase a golf cart that is going to be used to transport individuals to their activities as well as take them on leisure rides. The golf cart will also be used on Senior Citizen Day at the Meeker County Fair.

This year, we will have our lemonade stand on Saturday, July 11th, during Watercade weekend, from 10 am to 3 pm. Come visit us across from the Litchfield High School for some ice-cold lemonade; your donations support a great cause! If you can’t make it to Litchfield but still want to send a donation, we also accept Venmo @CousinClan13.
