Grandstanding with Greg

If you know Greg DeVos, you know “grandstanding” hardly describes him—unless we’re talking baseball seats. As general manager of the Hamel Hawks town ball team, Greg has poured his heart into our community, quietly putting in the work that turns good ideas into lasting contributions. His tireless efforts helped make the grandstand at Paul Fortin Field possible, carrying forward a tradition shaped by generations of players, volunteers, families, and fans—including Hawks Hall of Famer Tim Flemming, whose decades as a player and longtime coach helped define Hamel baseball. As you read Greg’s invitation below, I encourage you to consider sponsoring a seat in your family’s or business’s name. It’s a meaningful way to support the fields where young players find their footing, neighbors become friends, and summer memories take shape. After 100 years of Hamel baseball, we have an opportunity to help give the next generation a place to play—and a community to cheer them on.

Thank you from Hamel Athletic Club & the Hamel Hawks

As we wrap up an incredible 2026 season, the Hamel Athletic Club (HAC) and Hamel Hawks Town Ball Team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our amazing volunteers and sponsors.

To our volunteers — thank you for the countless hours, hard work, and dedication you gave throughout the season. From game days to events and everything in between, our organization simply could not do what we do without you.

To all of our sponsors — thank you for your generous support throughout the 2026 season and for helping make our 100 Years of Hamel Baseball Celebration such a special milestone. Your continued support helps keep baseball thriving in our community and allows us to celebrate the traditions that have made Hamel baseball so special for generations.

100 Years of Hamel Baseball — Celebrating the Past, Present & Future

As we look ahead to 2027, the work continues. With seven fields, more than 700 youth players in the HAC Youth Program, and the Hamel Hawks Town Ball team, preparing for the upcoming season is a major undertaking.

We have numerous field maintenance and improvement projects planned throughout our complex, and every dollar raised goes directly toward improving our baseball facilities.

Become a Hamel Legend – Only 48 Grandstand Seats Remaining in the 2nd Round

The Paul Fortin Grandstand features 90 seats, and are excited to announce that 42 seats have already been sponsored. Leaving 48 left to be sponsored by families in the community. Some of the generous donations from our first round of sponsors have already helped fund important improvements, including a new sprinkler system at Paul Fortin Field.

A $1,000 donation provides:

⚾YOUR personalized nameplate placed on a Paul Fortin Grandstand seat.

⚾ Membership within the Hamel Legends Club

⚾ Supports field improvements throughout the Hamel Athletic Club complex

Leave your name — or your family’s name — a business name as part of the next chapter of Hamel baseball history.

Your support isn’t just helping maintain fields — it’s helping build the future of Hamel baseball while honoring the people and traditions that brought us here.

The HAC is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations may be tax-deductible for those who qualify. Please consult your tax advisor.

Thank you for being part of the Hamel baseball family and for helping us celebrate 100 years of Hamel Baseball — and the next 100 years to come!
