The best dentistry in Minnesota

Lakeside Family Dentistry – you can tell from the name that it is a dental office, but what’s so great about it? Why is there an article about it? If you have questions, I hope I answer them in the article. If I don’t, consider switching over from your current dentist and getting them answered yourself! Now, the actual article!

On 1880 West Wayzata Boulevard in Long Lake there is one of the best dental practices in the Wayzata area. It is called Lakeside Family Dentistry and the owner is Dr. Mike Giebenhain. I interviewed both Dr. Mike Giebenhain and Dr. Tony Boe, my personal dentist. Let’s start with Dr. Mike first.

Dr. Mike has been a dentist since 2008, so about 11 years. I trust him! He graduated from The University of Minnesota, and went onto the U of MN School of Dentistry and completed it in 2008, so he started his dentistry the same year he graduated from college! Dr. Mike says that after patients start coming to Lakeside Family Dentistry, he sees that his patients dental hygiene goes up significantly. Now this might be surprising to you, but dentists are people too! He enjoys fishing, hiking, camping and BWCA canoe trips. Basically, when he’s not spending time in peoples’ mouths, he just loves to be outside! Okay, I think you know enough about Dr. Mike. I’ll tell you about Dr. Boe now.

Dr. Boe is my personal dentist at Lakeside Family Dentistry. He is very careful with your teeth and gets stuff done fast, while still doing an amazing job. He has been a dentist for a whopping 42 years! He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, Morris. He was admitted to the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry in 1973 and graduated in 1977. As I said before, dentists are people too, and Dr. Boe enjoys spending time with his family. He also loves water skiing, running and bicycling. Ironically, both dentists seem to enjoy spending time outside, doing physical activities, when they aren’t dealing with peoples’ teeth.

Now, you may have kids who are scared to go to the dentist, or you are a kid who is scared to go to the dentist, so here are some tips on how not to be scared, or avoid going to the dentist more than you have to by maintaining a healthy mouth.
eat sweets judiciously
brush and floss at least once or more per day, ideally after each meal
floss to clean the surfaces between your teeth where the brush cannot reach
see your dentist enough so that any needed care can be done when it is minor…..before it becomes a big problem
try to be aware of what you are eating and any habits you may have that involve your teeth, so if needed you can tell them to your dentist

I hope I’ve given enough information so that you are already calling them asking to switch over to Lakeside Family Dentistry. If not, call them! Barb and Jessica, who work at the front desk are super nice! Make sure to give them a call. Thanks for reading my article!
